Billing

How the free tier, usage, and upgrading work.

Syncing calls, messages, and contacts from Quo into Attio is a metered feature: there's a free monthly allowance, and continuing beyond it requires a paid plan.

The free tier

Every workspace starts on the free tier, which resets every calendar month:

WhatFree allowance per month
Contacts synced50
Messages synced100
Calls synced20

These numbers are configured on our end and may change — the settings page always shows your workspace's current usage and limits.

You can activate sync and use the integration on the free tier indefinitely — you're never required to add a card just to try it out.

Checking your usage

On the app's settings page, a usage banner shows how much of your free allowance you've used this month, for example: "Contacts: 12/50 · Messages: 40/100 · Calls: 6/20 this month." This banner only appears while you're on the free tier — once you upgrade, usage is no longer capped, so there's nothing to watch.

The banner's tone changes as you get closer to your limit:

  • Neutral — comfortably under your limit
  • Warning — you've used 80% or more of a limit
  • At limit — you've hit 100% of a limit; syncing for that item pauses until you upgrade or the month resets

What happens when you hit a limit

Once a limit is reached, that type of event (calls, messages, or contacts) simply stops being logged to Attio until either the calendar month resets or you upgrade — nothing is lost on Quo's side, it's just not being mirrored into Attio. For calls and messages specifically, you'll get one note per month, on the first item that gets skipped, telling you sync is paused for that reason. Contacts don't get this note — they're just silently skipped once the limit is reached.

Upgrading

Click Upgrade on the settings page to open Stripe Checkout in a new tab. Adding a card here doesn't charge you anything up front — you're only billed for usage beyond each item's free tier, based on how many contacts, messages, and calls you sync that month. Your first invoice will reflect whatever you used.

Once you've upgraded, the settings page shows "Metered billing active" instead of "Free tier," the usage banner disappears, and a Manage billing button takes you to a Stripe-hosted portal where you can update your card, view invoices, or cancel.

Canceling

Canceling through the billing portal stops future charges. Sync itself doesn't turn off instantly — see Disconnecting for what happens and the short delay involved.
