What's on the app's settings page.
Everything for this integration lives in one place: Settings → Apps → Smartlead.
Smartlead API key
The only thing required to get started is your Smartlead API Key — this is what connects the integration to your Smartlead account. See Getting Started for where to find it and how to activate sync.
Billing status and usage
- A status badge showing whether you're on the free tier, pay-as-you-go, or the unlimited plan
- A usage banner (free tier only) showing how much of your monthly allowance you've used
- Upgrade / Manage billing buttons

Reply Handoff
Controls who gets assigned the follow-up task created when a lead replies:
- Owner attribute slug — the slug of a People attribute (e.g.
owner) that holds a workspace member. If set, and that attribute has an active value on the person who replied, the task is assigned to them. - Default assignee — a fallback workspace member to assign the task to when there's no owner attribute configured, or the person has no owner set.
If neither is set, the task is created without an assignee. See Notes & Tasks for what the task itself contains.
Pipeline
Controls whether — and where — promising leads land in your Deals list:
- Create or advance a deal when a lead is marked interested — toggle to turn this off entirely if you'd rather manage pipeline promotion yourself. On by default.
- Target deal stage — the stage name a promoted lead's deal entry should be set to (e.g.
In Progress). Leave blank to add the entry without setting a stage.

Deliverability Hygiene
Controls which Person attributes get checked when an email bounces or a lead unsubscribes:
- Bounced attribute slug — the slug of a checkbox attribute to check when an email to this person bounces. Leave blank to skip writing this attribute entirely (a Note is still logged either way).
- Unsubscribed attribute slug — same, for unsubscribes.
Unlike the field mappings below, leaving these blank doesn't fall back to a default slug — it deliberately skips writing anything, in case you don't have (or don't want) a dedicated attribute for this.
Field mappings
Every other Smartlead field (Lead ID, Campaign ID/Name/Status, LinkedIn, Phone, Location, First Line, Reply Category, Lead Category) maps to a People attribute slug. Leave any of these blank to use the sensible default slug shown as placeholder text — you only need to fill one in if you've already got a differently-named attribute you want the integration to write into instead. Find an attribute's slug in Attio under Workspace Settings → Objects → People.
What you can't configure
There are currently no settings to:
- Choose which event types sync (sends, opens, clicks, replies, bounces, unsubscribes, and category changes all sync together)
- Change which Smartlead campaigns are included — all active campaigns on the connected account sync
