How to install and connect Instantly to your Attio workspace.
Before you start
You'll need:
- An Attio workspace where you have permission to install apps
- An Instantly account with an active API key
Finding your Instantly API key
- Log in to Instantly
- Go to Settings → Integrations → API Keys
- Copy your API key — you'll paste it into Attio in the next step
Step 1: Install the app
Install Instantly for Attio from the Attio App Store like any other app.
Step 2: Connect
In Attio, go to Settings → Connections.
Find this app and click Connect.
Paste in your Instantly API key.
Click Save.
Your API key is stored securely and is only used to talk to Instantly on your behalf. Nobody else in your workspace can view it.
When you save, the app verifies the key against Instantly, then registers a webhook so Instantly can start pushing campaign activity to Attio. You don't need to create any fields or lists yourself — those are set up automatically the first time activity comes in for a campaign (see Campaign Lists).
Checking your connection is working
If you're ever unsure whether the connection is working, go to the app's settings page in Attio and click Test Connection. You'll see a success message if everything is set up correctly, or an error message if the key is invalid, expired, or Instantly couldn't be reached.
What happens next
Once connected, the integration starts listening for activity going forward — it does not import your historical campaign data. As your Instantly campaigns send and receive emails, Attio will keep your People, Companies, Notes, Tasks, and campaign Lists up to date. See What Syncs Automatically for the full picture.
Reply follow-up Tasks are created automatically with no setup required — but until you configure an owner or default assignee, they'll be created unassigned, and Deal creation for interested leads is off until you turn it on. See Settings.
