Troubleshooting

"Test Connection" fails

• Make sure you copied the entire API key from Instantly, with no extra spaces before or after
• Confirm the key is still active in Instantly under Settings → Integrations → API Keys — keys can be regenerated, which invalidates the old one
• Instantly may also be temporarily unreachable; try again in a moment

I clicked Connect but nothing seems to be syncing

• Syncing only happens for new activity going forward — connecting the app does not import your historical campaign data. You'll start seeing Notes, Tasks, and List updates as new emails go out and leads respond
• Check that the campaigns you expect to sync are actually active and sending in Instantly

A lead isn't showing up in Attio, or a duplicate was created

• The integration matches leads by email address. If a lead's Attio record exists under a different or misspelled email, a new Person may be created instead of updating the existing one

Tasks aren't being assigned to the right person

• Check the Reply handoff settings — make sure the owner attribute slug or default assignee email is set correctly. If neither is set (or the owner field can't be resolved), Tasks are still created, just unassigned. See Settings.

The bounced/unsubscribed field isn't updating

• These are optional — the app only writes to them if you've set Bounced attribute / Unsubscribed attribute in settings to a valid field slug on your People object. A Note is still added for these events either way, even without a field configured.

A contact is missing name, job title, phone, or company

• Run Fill in details from Instantly on that record (or in bulk) — see Actions. It only fills in what's missing; it won't overwrite anything already saved.
